Love that hat

cc

Ben loves riding the train at Hermann Park as much as Sam. They keep expanding the track so we try to go at least once a week when the weather is nice.

These boots were made for walking

Sam has been asking for rain boots (or “firemen boots” as he refers to them) for a long time. We got him some dog ones yesterday that he refuses to take off. Now that his boots are ready to go, it probably won’t rain for another month.

Wow! That's a big horse!

On our way home from school yesterday, Sam noticed a bunch of police horses at the park near our house. He screamed with delight and couldn’t wait to get up to the park. As soon as we arrived, Sam took off running across the park so that he could see them better. But the moment he got close he immediately came to a halt. I think he underestimated the size of these animals. And to his defense, they were some LARGE horses. After about an hour of avoiding the horses, I got him close enough for a picture but there was no amount of time that was going to get him to pet them. For now, I think we’ll just love horses from a distance!

Goofballs

Look at those faces! There’s no question that they are definitely related.

Our little weed

Our little (in age not size) Benjamin continues to grow like a weed. This morning we had his 6 month check-up. He’s doing great developmentally and after checking both his weight and head size twice (yep…they were right the 1st time around) he was given a clean bill of health.

His measurements are below:

Head – 18” (92%)
Length – 26 ½” (75%)
Weight – 17 lbs, 5 oz (50%)
*Ben’s doctor called him “fluffy” b/c he looks like he should weigh a lot more than he does.

Playground fun at St. Luke's Day School

cc There were 2 weeks at the beginning of this school year that Sam did everything in his power to get out of going to school. But now, his happiest days are school days. Most of his classmates are the same as the previous year and he’s got 2 teachers that truly love their students. I’ve been volunteering at the school and was lucky enough to watch him interact with his classmates on the playground this past week. I know that 3 years old is very young, but he’s already made some wonderful friends.

Did you hear that?

cc
It’s amazing what a second child can sleep through (and where they can sleep). This was taken right after Sadie had a barking attack at the UPS man. During this attack Sam was also running through the house yelling at the top of his lungs for Sadie to stop barking (thanks Sam for trying to keep the noise to a minimum). I went running into Ben’s room to make sure he didn’t get jolted awake…and there he lay sound asleep!
