These Boots Were Made for Walking

I’ve been laughing since Sam, Ben & I experienced our first trip to Cavender’s Boot City on Wednesday. If you've never made a trip there during the rodeo, please go today! I promised (not thinking it would be hard to fulfill) Sam some cowboy gear for Go Texan Day at school today. I definitely under estimated the power (and insanity) of the Rodeo in Houston, TX! Luckily, we finally found what we needed and Sam looked like a true cowboy with the rest of his St. Luke’s friends. Yee Haw!

BIG vehicles are fun!

Sam & Ben’s school had a Transportation Day on Tuesday. There were tons of vehicles (big and small) and included many of the boys’ favorites like an ambulance, telephone line repair truck, dump truck, convertible, etc. Sam & his friends climbed all over each vehicle while Ben and his girlfriends (he’s the only boy) watched from a distance and stayed warm by snuggling in their wagon. What a fun event!

Push Brother, Push!

cc

Sam thought it would be a great idea to hop in the back of his dump truck and push himself all over the neighborhood. Ben, on the other hand, had different plans. HE wanted to push Sam all around. Luckily, Sam cooperated and allowed strong Ben to get in his workout. I’ve never seen such determination (and sweat) from a 17 month old. When he couldn’t push another step, he hopped in and Sam took Ben for a ride. I think we’ll repeat this again tomorrow as my house is very quiet right now because of all the physical activity this morning!

Will the real Troy Aikman please stand up?

For those that have known me a LONG time, you know that I was once very much in love with Troy Aikman. A few weeks ago my aunt & uncle brought me about a dozen large boxes from my childhood to go through. Most of the stuff is junk but there are also some real treasures. I never expected my old Cowboys helmet to be put in the “treasure” category, but Sam is smitten. He’s worn it non-stop for two days now. I fear when he has to take it off for school tomorrow!

We love the Beach!

We took the boys to the aquarium at Moody Gardens on Friday. After lunch we made a quick trip down to the beach. It was cold and windy but the boys still had a great time. Come on summer! We’re ready to get in the water.

Will the name of our blog need to change?

Scott and I have been on quite a ride the past few weeks. Shortly after Christmas, we discovered that we were expecting another child. A few weeks ago (while Scott was, of course, on a business trip) an ultrasound gave us another surprise… We’re having not one but TWO babies (pictures on the left are from that appointment). In case you are keeping count…that makes baby #3 and #4!!!! Today we went for another glance at our newest munchkins (pictures on right), and they both look great and are progressing nicely. If we make it all the way to week 40 (I can’t imagine how large my belly will be by then) then the babies will arrive September 4th. Woo hoo!

Now we just need to wait and see if we’ll get two more boys or if we’ll get a little girl making “Sheehan Boys” void. Only time will tell.

Oh So Famous!

St. Luke’s Day School created a new brochure for the 2010-11 school year. Guess who’s on the back cover…Sam Sheehan! Adorable.

A Sick Kind of Valentine's Day

cc
cc
There’s nothing like a nagging stomach bug running through the house to make for a very unromantic Valentine’s Day. Poor Scott got the worst of it early on Sunday morning, but the boys and I were pretty much over it by then. So, I took my littlest Valentines to their favorite place for lunch, Lupe Tortilla!

But I have to give to my sweet husband, that even on his last leg…he still managed to bring home flowers. I LOVE ALL my sweet Valentines. Happy Valentine’s Day, boys!!!

The Climbing Machine

Ben is crawling up on any and every thing these days. Of course, he’s not so good at the coming down part…so Mom is a little stressed out.

Two Boys, One Tunnel

This is usually a recipe for disaster. And though you will notice Ben kicking Sam directly in the face, we had no tears and lots of laughter during this insane time!

Sam just completed the two week (every day) swimming insanity at the Houston Swim Club. He’s always loved being in the water but this finally gave him the motivation to get swimming (and floating) on his own. Mr. Independent will have a lot more fun at the pool this summer!
